Loft Predicate & Technology Stack

Predicate enables a community to build a set of logical models around it’s activity, it’s trusted content and it’s behaviour.

These models allow for improved visibility and observation within the community, measurements of performance and collaboration and the identification of opportunities to engage with other communities.

The first model that Predicate is seeking to generate is a ‘corpus’, an index and supporting ontology of all the content that is believed to be important for the community.  This provides the required ‘touch stone’ for members of the community to see value in the continued use of the tool.

The second model is generated to innovate upon an iterative process that will engage the individual in interaction with the corpus and the generation of content through collaboration that is observed and recorded to build an extruded, ‘real’ concept of activity within the community.

This third model, of the actual activity within the community is a contained framework, using an ontological structure, sentiment analysis, and measurement of activity and environmental metrics.  From here analytics of knowledge (education, retention, etc.) even process and communication patterns can be observed and comparisons can be made between the ‘global’ context to what is important on a ‘local’ scale.

Clinical health consultation, notes and observations are the lynch pin of recording patient interaction. The conversion of this information into meaningful diagnostics is time consuming and often restricted in scope to reference materials that only the individual clinician knows about.

The Clinical Diagnostic Research Tool (CDRT) will enable a clinician to record their consultation and then have the notes used to search reference material included in a trusted, high value collection defined by a peer group. This will accelerate the diagnostic process by providing the clinician with a larger, more appropriate set of research while in process, instead of dedicating extensive time to discovery of content.

Digital Education Platform (DEP)

The company has identi?ed the need for a software application upon which an individual can engage with content through self-organised educational models, bene?t from proven social collaboration and be encouraged through the sharing of their efforts with industry professional mentors and peer groups. The purpose of this tool is to assemble the large concepts of education and make them more accessible and consumable by the individual.

The L’Oréal Professionnel Digital Education Application 2015 has seen the successful launch of gamification with the introduction of a Colour Tool and Mixing Lab.

  • L’Oréal Professionnel Principles of Colour provides learning about colour theory, the L’Oréal Professionnel colour numbering system and application of colour to the hair. The focus of this game delivers a visually attractive, comprehensive and enjoyable experience to the student which uses educational mechanics such as assessment, learning pathways and gamification to encourage progression through the Principles of Colour Game.
  • Once a Student has proven a competent level of knowledge in the Principles of Colour Game, they are able to use the L’Oréal Professionnel Mixing Lab. This tool generates mixing ratios of various L’Oréal Professionnel colouring products. The mixtures are represented with the real world vales for product quantities, hair colouring process and supporting product technical documentation. The students can use the L’Oréal Professionnel Mixing Lab within their salon as a guide to mixing L’Oréal Professionnel colouring products.

Clinical Diagnostic & Research Tool (CDRT) | Software Design & Development Project

Clinical consultation, notes and observations are the lynch pin of recording patient interaction. The conversion of this information into meaningful diagnostics is time consuming and often restricted in scope to reference materials that only the individual clinician knows about. 

A clinician is able to record their consultation and then have those notes used to search reference material included in a trusted, high value collection defined by a peer group. This will accelerate the diagnostic process by providing the clinician with a larger, more appropriate set of research while in process instead of having to dedicate extensive time to the discovery of content. 

CDRT is designed to provide a robust Research Methodology using aggregated, high quality, peer identified information sources. Taking the provided observational data, the Clinician is assisted in the process of diagnosis through the use of deductive formulation.

These formulations can then be used to search the aggregated information sources. This process is enhanced by way of an ontological model which builds an environmental understanding of Clinician activity through observation of frequency, proximity and preference. 

Clinicians are also able to engage in collaboration with peers through sharing of consultations and formulations, with Clinician details (profile details, formulation details) being included within search returns when similarities exist in diagnosis. 

CDRT will allow for the content of Consultations to be formatted, combined and then ‘released’ for peer review and potential inclusion into the trusted information sources referred to by the application. 

Closely following the consultation process for Clinicians, the structure for data collection and reference retrieval is simplified to promote rapid adoption. The Clinician collects observations by using photographs, handwritten notes and textual (keyboard input) entries. Only the textual entries are used in this first iteration of the application. 

Formulations are used to group sets of observations so as to highlight commonalities, declare experiential diagnosis and enable deductive research mechanics. The terms which are collected are used to compare against the indexed terms (ontology) from the prescribed data stores and then relevant references are returned for use. 

Our design approach is simple. Talk, draw and plan is the best way to put yourself in the shoes of an user. Loft wanted to create effective experience which are visually apparent, although still giving our users a sense of control. In CDRT, Loft iterated through a bundle of design task flows to create the simplest process for our users to pace through CDRT successfully to reach their outcomes.
